In 2018, Lan Pham Vu turned her vision into reality and founded SahLan-a salon built on the principles of science, passion for business, and love for education. Her goal was simple yet powerful: to bring the highest-quality nail care and treatment services to the residents of Eau Claire and surrounding communities while setting a gold standard for service quality, infection control, and client well-being.

Lan’s journey began long before SahLan’s doors first opened. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, where her curiosity for science shaped her understanding of health, hygiene, and the human body. Later, her Master’s in Business Administration from Phoenix University gave her the tools to build and grow a thriving business rooted in strong values.

Her career started in the field of dentistry, where she not only worked as a dental assistant but also taught science-related dental courses at Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC). This love for teaching would later inspire her next big chapter—sharing her expertise in the nail technician program at CVTC and creating opportunities for future beauty professionals.

With her husband John, a fellow CVTC alumnus and proud Eau Claire resident, Lan dedicated herself to making SahLan a place where beauty meets wellness. Their shared passion for health, education, and community led them to create a salon environment that is clean, eco-friendly, and welcoming—a space where both clients and employees can thrive. Together, they have made it a mission to open doors for CVTC graduates, providing career opportunities in nail technology, cosmetology, and aesthetics.

At SahLan, the belief is simple: nails reflect overall health. This philosophy drives Lan and her licensed professional team to stay at the forefront of industry standards, trends, and styles—attending conventions, taking advanced training, and continuously improving their craft. Whether it’s a manicure, pedicure, foot massage, or another beauty service, every treatment is delivered with meticulous care and respect for the client’s well-being.

In 2024, Lan expanded her mission beyond the salon, founding SahLan Academy, a non-profit manicuring school dedicated to serving the Eau Claire area—especially its underserved populations. The Academy equips students with the skills to build a career, support their families, and serve their community, ensuring that SahLan’s legacy is not just about beauty, but about empowerment.

Lan often quotes “We touch many hearts as we touch hands.” That guiding belief fuels everything at SahLan—where every service, every smile, and every opportunity begins with care, continues with skill, and ends with trust.
